In this module, I've gained valuable insights into key concepts that are reshaping the way we approach assessment and feedback in English language teaching:
1. AI-Powered Formative Assessment: We delved into the potential of AI to facilitate continuous, low-pressure assessments that offer instant feedback to both students and educators. This approach includes utilizing AI to generate quick quizzes through platforms like Quizalize or Quizizz, designing engaging language games with AI-driven tools such as Question Well and Kahoot, and conducting real-time evaluations of speaking or writing skills.
Furthermore, we examined how AI can track student progress over time, providing detailed analytics that help identify areas where students may need additional support or enrichment. This allows for more personalized learning experiences, enabling teachers to tailor their instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
Additionally, the module emphasized the importance of integrating AI in a way that enhances the learning experience without diminishing the human element. This includes ensuring that AI tools are used to complement, rather than replace, the teacher's role in guiding, mentoring, and supporting students throughout their learning journey.
